With the STIHL Easy2Start system, starting STIHL power equipment is effortless and straightforward.
An additional spring between the crankshaft and starter rope rotor allow the engine to start with a
quick, easy pull. Easy2Start technology can be found on variety of STIHL products, including the
Yard Boss and select chainsaws,
trimmers,
blowers and shredder vacs, edgers,
hedge trimmers, pole pruners, and
KombiSystem. STIHL tools with Easy2Start are
indicated by the letter “E” in the model name.
Advantages of the STIHL Easy2Start system
Slower starting speed: The maximum pull required to start the engine is drastically reduced,
allowing the starter rope to be pulled about 2/3 slower than conventional starters.
More reliability: With less speed and strength required, the engine will start no matter how
quickly you pull the starter rope.
Less effort: Starting certain outdoor power tools usually results in a workout. With
Easy2Start, an easy, even pull with a few fingers is sufficient.
