Purpose:
This individual is responsible for overseeing the safety of all employees, ensuring we maintain an exemplary safety record and a positive company culture. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and company policies, procedures, and regulations, making sure to promote a safe, accident-free work environment. In conjunction with management, this position leads activities related to facilities management, including supporting the development and implementation of facility management programs and assisting with transformational capital construction projects. Responsibilities include tracking budgets, facilitating planning and forecasting, supporting client and vendor relations, and providing project coordination and technical assistance to ensure initiatives run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Safety and Compliance
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs, including driver training, accident prevention initiatives, and compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Manage DOT compliance including coordinating inspections
- Maintain current safety manuals, programs, and policies while staying informed on industry best practices and emerging safety technologies.
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate reporting, follow-up, and resolution of all Property and Casualty insurance claims.
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Identify potential safety or compliance issues, recommend corrective measures, and ensure timely resolution consistent with company policy.
- Represent the company at safety meetings and serve as a liaison with local and state government officials as needed.
- Support positive company culture by promoting teamwork, communication, customer service, and adherence to safety rules and company policies.
Facilities, Buildings & Maintenance
- Develop and operationalize facility management programs to address ongoing needs and ensure safety and compliance with permitting requirements, working closely with regional managers.
- Oversee capital improvements and facility maintenance projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial objectives.
- Ensure adherence to project budgets and timelines
- Coordinate with construction vendors
- In conjunction with regional management, provide VPs with direction and guidance on capital projects to be reviewed and approved by senior leadership and owners.
- Partner with management to maintain a regional and network-wide perspective to leverage resources, optimize spending, and maximize uptime.
- Oversee scope/change requests
- Collaborate with management to establish standard operating procedures, policies, and project-specific tools that streamline operations and support successful project execution.
Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 3–5 years of experience in safety and compliance and facility management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of capital construction, EPC delivery models, project management practices, and related corporate/industry standards.
- Experience with construction, design, finance, and project execution, including preparing proposals, estimating projects, and managing budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk, interpret and apply regulations, develop policies and procedures, and conduct audits.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively while working independently when needed.
- Proven ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
- High ethical and professional standards with accountability, urgency, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Willingness to travel as needed, including potential residence on a project site.

- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Working Conditions:
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
- The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or to chemicals.
