This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced dealership environment, contributing to the efficient operation of the parts department while learning about agricultural machinery and equipment. The intern will work closely with team members to ensure customer satisfaction, maintain stock levels, and support the overall success of the parts department.

Responsibilities

Assist with Parts Inventory Management:

  • Help organize and maintain the parts inventory in the warehouse.
  • Assist in receiving, labeling, and stocking parts as they arrive.
  • Track and monitor parts inventory levels, and alert the team of low stock items.

Parts Lookup and Order Processing:

  • Assist customers in identifying and locating the correct parts using parts catalogs and software.
  • Process customer orders for parts, including entering information into the dealership’s system.
  • Help prepare parts for shipment or delivery to customers.

Customer Service and Interaction:

  • Greet and assist customers in person or over the phone with parts inquiries and orders.
  • Provide product knowledge and advice to customers about available parts and accessories.
  • Address customer concerns or issues with parts orders, and escalate when necessary.

Assist with Parts Department Organization:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts department.
  • Ensure that parts are properly labeled and stored in their designated locations.

Data Entry and Documentation:

  • Input parts orders, customer information, and inventory data into the dealership's computer system.
  • Assist in keeping accurate records of parts transactions, returns, and stock movements.

Assist with Seasonal and Promotional Displays:

  • Help set up seasonal displays and promotional signage for parts and accessories.
  • Ensure that promotional items are well-stocked and easily accessible to customers.

General Administrative Support:

  • Provide clerical support to the parts department, including filing, organizing paperwork, and other office duties as required.
  • Help prepare reports on parts sales, inventory levels, and order status.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Assist with any other tasks or special projects assigned by the parts manager or department supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school or a related vocational/technical program.
  • Interest in agriculture, construction, and/or turf equipment.
  • Familiarity with parts, tools, or mechanical systems preferred
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., using inventory systems, Microsoft Office).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Able to follow safety procedures.

  • General Physical Requirements:
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, Standing, Walking, Lifting, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Repetitive Motions.Visual Acuity:
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (includes inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
