St. Louis, Missouri (January 29, 2020) — Hutson, Inc. was presented with the Top Precision Ag Agronomic Demonstration award for the nation and Division O at the 7th annual Develop with Deere Conference.
The Develop with Deere Conference brings together nearly 700 companies including John Deere dealerships, ag service providers and software companies. Attendees discuss ideas and trends in agriculture technology, software and digital tools. This year’s conference was centered around connecting people, equipment, technology and insights. During the three-day event, more than 40 sessions were held to show attendees how their customers can use John Deere applications.
“We have to focus on technology solely because it’s changing faster than anything else,” said Karl Huebner, Integrated Solutions Manager at Hutson. “We have dedicated agronomists and product support specialists to help farmers understand the importance of new technology. We’re all about demonstrating how a product gives our customers a strategic advantage.”
Karl explains that demos are vital for educating farmers on how this technology can help their operation. “Farmers need to be more efficient and more effective than ever before. They need to know the variables to give them more visibility when managing their business.”
John Deere recognizes dealerships that excel in educating customers on new technology with the Top Precision Ag Agronomic Demonstration award. Deere dealerships across the nation are considered for the award.
Karl attributes his team’s success to the way they position themselves. Their goals have shifted to focus on customer experience and internal support rather than revenue. Karl believes this change is in Hutson’s best interest. “We used to segregate ag and precision ag, but it’s now to the point where every pass in the field involves some form of precision. This is agriculture now.”
Hutson’s Precision Ag department has grown to 12 members and includes Product Support Specialists and Agronomists. “We’re focused on the marriage of agronomy and equipment,” says Karl. “At the intersection of those two roads is where our team excels.”
