For over seventy-five years, the Hutson family has been privileged to serve the needs of farmers in the central United States with a variety of exceptional products and services. Dan C Hutson II expanded the Hutson tradition of offering quality and value into its third generation. In 1976, before graduating from Murray State University, Dan founded his own company, Hutson Ag Service, Inc. The company offered custom application of fertilizers and chemicals, as well as seed, feed, and other agricultural products, it soon grew from one location in Murray, KY., to sixteen locations in five states.

In 1990, Hutson Ag Service, Inc. purchased a small John Deere dealership in Mayfield, KY. Business growth and evolution necessitated changes in business structure, paving the way for the addition of two new locations including Russellville, KY in 1994 and Princeton, KY only a year later, in 1995. In 1996, the equipment division of Hutson’s Ag Service became known as Hutson’s Ag Equipment, Inc. Diversification of product and customer mix once again required further expansion of the company with the additions of Morganfield, KY in 1997, Clarksville, TN in 2001 as well as a new name on January 1, 2004. With growing customer demand and product enhancement, Hutson’s Ag Equipment, Inc. became known as Hutson, Inc., one of the premier John Deere dealerships in the nation.

On June 18th 2008 Dan C. Hutson II lost his life in an airplane accident. Dan earned a reputation as an avid and accomplished pilot by logging over 6,000 hours in numerous aircrafts, including his own PC12 and Robinson 44 helicopter. He will not only be remembered for his passion for flying and his dedication to his work, but also for his love of his family.

After Hutson, Inc. lost Dan, its leader and friend, Dan’s wife of 21 years Cindy, chose to carry on the Hutson Family business. With the help of General Manager Barry Carson, who came to Hutson, Inc. in 2005, the company has been exceedingly successful. Because of Barry’s guidance, her courage, persistence and the dedication of the employees, Cindy has been able to keep the business running and Dan’s dream alive.

Hutson, Inc. shows no signs of slowing down. With the purchase at the beginning of 2009 of its sixth location in Clinton, KY, Hutson, Inc. continues to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers and community. Keeping an eye to the future, Cindy Hutson leads the Hutson organization as it constantly adapts to the ever changing needs of its clientele. Aggressive leadership and solid, reliable business practices have always been and will continue to be the foundation of success for the Hutson Family. Because of these principles, Hutson, Inc. is one of the most successful full line John Deere dealerships in the world.
